The German company Mercedes-Benz has presented a new electric car EQS. Car sales will begin this fall. Autonews reports about it on April 16.
The production model was built on the basis of the conceptual model EQS Vision, which debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show (Germany). At the same time, many stylistic decisions were taken from the new generation of the S-class sedan.
The length of the electric vehicle was 5265 mm. The company noted that it has developed the most aerodynamically verified production car in history, with a drag coefficient of 0.20.
The car received a special hyperscreen of the MBUX multimedia system. The huge display with integrated air vents occupies almost the entire front of the passenger compartment. In addition to the multimedia system, the hyperscreen combines the functions of the dashboard, navigation system and various vehicle settings.
All physical buttons and switches, the number of which is minimized, are located on the central tunnel.
As an option, the Drive Pilot semi-automatic control system is available, corresponding to the third level autopilot, but it will work at speeds up to 60 km / h only on some sections of the motorways, mainly in Germany.
The new Mercedes-Benz EQS is powered by a 331 hp electric motor, which allows the car to accelerate from standstill to 100 km / h in 6.2 seconds. In addition, a version with two engines with a total output of 524 hp will be available. Such a car accelerates to 100 km / h in 4.3 seconds.
Thanks to a set of lithium-ion batteries, the model can travel up to 700 km without recharging. Mercedes-Benz is also developing the most powerful version of the EQS with a return of 725 hp.
On April 7, it was reported that Mercedes-Benz has unveiled an updated third-generation CLS model.
The car received a modernized radiator grille, a modified front bumper, and original alloy wheels. Inside, there is a new multifunction steering wheel with Nappa leather trim.
