Member of Dokku Umarov’s gang deported from Germany to face trial

Dokku Umarov’s gang member Timur Ortskhanov, who was deported to Russia from Germany last year, will stand trial in the North Caucasus. The investigation has information that Timur Ortskhanov was involved in a series of killings of operatives and servicemen in Ingushetia and North Ossetia, committed in the period 2010-2012.

The accused joined a bandit group with a criminal community under the leadership of Dokku Umarov and Ali Taziev in 2006, the Russian Investigative Committee reports. After committing a series of crimes, he left for Europe, where he hid from criminal prosecution in Russia for many years.

After the deportation of Timur Ortskhanov, his criminal case was investigated in the main investigation department of the RF Investigative Committee for the North Caucasus Federal District. He was charged under a number of articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

Eight more members of the gang were put on the wanted list for the same criminal case. Over two dozen bandits have already been convicted, including sentenced to life in prison.
