Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko fell ill with COVID-19. He announced this on Saturday, October 24, in his Telegram channel.
“Friends! The coronavirus crept up at the most inopportune moment. Today I received a positive test result, ”wrote Klitschko.
He noted that he was feeling well, but he still had to go into self-isolation and work from home.
“Working as a mayor during a pandemic, of course, involves constant risk. Communicating with people, checking hospitals. In particular, he regularly visited the infectious diseases wards, where patients with COVID-19 are treated. Tried to beware. Taking into account the specifics of the work, I regularly did tests, ”Klitschko added.
Earlier that day, it became known that the mayor of Turkish Istanbul, Ekrem Imamoglu, was infected with the coronavirus. He noted that he feels well, and also urged his compatriots to take care of their health and take precautions.
