33-year-old Russian tennis player, ex-first racket of the world, winner of five Grand Slam singles competitions Maria Sharapova announced her engagement to British billionaire Alexander Gilkes.
“I said ‘Yes’ from the first day of our meeting. It was our little secret, wasn’t it?” She wrote on her Instagram.
The athlete also posted a photo where Alexander is hugging and a video in which the groom is sitting on a bench, and Maria is merrily jumping around, pointing at him to the camera.
It is known that Sharapova and Gilkes began dating back in October 2018. The 41-year-old British businessman is the co-founder of Squared Circles, launched in 2020. He was also a co-founder and president of Paddle8, an online collectibles auction, until he retired. In addition, he is a friend of Prince Harry.
