Whenever buying a tech. Product one of the most looked into aspect is the design. With lots of similarities, with similar machined aluminum shells, come in silver and Space Gray, and both have the little lip at the front of the base, for easily opening the screen. But there are always the little things that might make the difference.

Both 13 inch Pro and Air have similar bezels although the MacBook Air has got a teardrop design that is less rectangular and more like a wedge. Another distinct feature is Air’s gold colour option other than light and dark silver options.

However, the premium $1,799 MacBook Pro 13-inch comes with four Thunderbolt 3 ports while also stepping you up to a faster Core i5 CPU. They both come with the ports on the left.

The Display

With yet another very similar experience of the Retina displays in the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro are both sharp and colourful but the difference is in the brightness.

According to certain lab test results suggests the MacBook Air maxes out at 386 nits of brightness, while the 13-inch MacBook Pro with 485 nits gets even brighter. Although the colour output is almost similar to MacBook air’s 1-3% lesser sRGB rating.

Preferred: 13 inch MacBook Pro

The keyboard

Apple needed an upgrade from Butterfly keyboard for so long due to its reliability issues and they got it with the Magic Keyboard. The Air also wins for those who don’t really see the real value in the OLED Touch Bar and prefer the physical Function keys, which are much harder to accidentally activate.

The Performance

This isn’t a very remarkable battle. MacBook Pro has quicker U-series Intel Processors, while the MacBook Air has a slower Y-series Processor that is streamlined for regular errands and battery life. The Air and 13-inch Pro manage with Intel Iris Plus graphics.

The 13-inch Pro has a tenth Gen Core i5 CPU with 16GB of RAM and the 2020 Air (Intel Core i5-1030NG7 Processor with 8GB of RAM) has a more fragile i5 chip and a half to a fourth of the memory.

On Geekbench 5, which estimates in general execution, the 13-inch MacBook Pro scored 4,399, almost double the Air’s 2,738 scores.

A comparable war of velocities is seen in SSD execution. On the Blackmagic Disk Speed Test, the read speeds from the 13-inch MacBook Pro (2,060 MBps) leave the Air’s 1,301.9 MBps read speed score in the residue.

Once more, the Pros win in video testing transcoding a 6.5GB 4K video to 1080p in a short time of 12:43 on the 13-inch Pro, while the Air posted a period of 27:10.

The price and value

Mac went a very long time without a new sub-$1,000 PC, and the company has at last changed that. Truly, the new MacBook Air is just $1 under that thousand-dollar top, however, Apple’s choice to cut the cost of the Air by $100 likewise accompanies the company multiplying its default stockpiling to 256GB — a redesign additionally found in the new 13-inch MacBook Pro, which presently begins at 256GB of capacity, notwithstanding remaining at the equivalent $1,299 cost.

Annoyingly, you have to spend an extra $500 to get the 13-inch MacBook Pro with tenth Gen CPUs, an expensive update that PC Producers like Dell don’t cause you to pick at the checkout.

And keeping in mind that some may believe that machine merits its speed, it’s simply evaluated excessively high by most shoppers. It’s genuinely for Pros as it were.

Conclusion

Both MacBook Air and 13 inch MacBook Pro are better in their own ways so at last, it’s totally up to the preference of the customer and their needs. But MacBook Air and 13 inch MacBook Pro have for sure come a long way.
