President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that if Belarus “collapses”, the same will happen with Russia.

“Don’t be relaxed. You too soon [могут произойти] certain political events, and maybe out of the blue. Do you know where we came to together with the Russian establishment and leadership? If Belarus collapses today, Russia will be next, ”Lukashenka said in an interview with Russian media. Fragments of the conversation were published by the RT channel on its Telegram channel.

Presidential elections were held in Belarus on August 9. According to the Central Election Commission, Lukashenka won the victory, but after summing up the voting results in the cities of the republic, mass protests began, which resulted in clashes with law enforcement officers.

On September 1, Lukashenka said that if alternative forces come to power in Belarus, a massacre will begin in the country, and what happened in Ukraine will be “flowers”.

According to the politician, it is not the power that worries him, but the desire to save the country. The President also noted that Belarusians and Russians have one common Fatherland from Brest to Vladivostok, and promised to prevent a civil war in Belarus.
