The date for World Asthma Day changes every year.

World Asthma Day is celebrated every year on the first Tuesday in May under the auspices of the Global Asthma Initiative and with the support of the World Organization. For the first time this day was celebrated in 35 countries in 1998. The celebration was timed to coincide with the World Bronchial Asthma Forum. Since that time, the number of countries celebrating this holiday has been increasing annually.

The main goal of the event is to draw attention to an increase in the number of people suffering from asthma, to improve the quality of care provided to asthmatics and to increase people’s knowledge of this disease.

LPR doctors are always actively involved in celebrating World Asthma Day. In this, in labor and educational collectives, they hold conversations about measures to prevent the disease, issue thematic memos and health bulletins. Radio and television programs are preparing programs devoted to asthma, articles on this topic are published in the print media.

According to the Ministry of Health of the LPR, the number of deaths caused by COVID-19 has increased in the Republic, and according to the State Statistics Committee of the LPR, at the end of April, prices for onions and pasta were reduced in the Republic.
