The head coach of Rubin Kazan Leonid Slutskiy spoke about the preparation of his players for the upcoming match with Zenit. The game will take place next Saturday in St. Petersburg.
In a commentary to the Rubin press service, the specialist noted that the training camps are taking place as usual, the players finally gathered in full force after playing for the national teams. Slutsky also expects that before the important meeting, Rubin will not suffer any personnel losses and will come up to the game against the leader of the championship fully armed.
– Yes, we have losses in the form of disqualified very important players, but we will try to put the rest in action. Playing with Zenit for any Russian club is a serious test of professional aptitude, because Zenit is the super favorite of our championship, – commented the 49-year-old Kazan mentor. He emphasizes that for such a young team it will be an interesting big away game that Rubin is looking forward to.
After 11 rounds, the Petersburgers, thanks to the goal difference, retain their leadership in the RPL, while Rubin is in ninth place. The blue-white-blue will receive the Kazan citizens on October 24, the meeting starts at 16:30.
