Lebanon does not have sufficient financial resources to cope with the aftermath of the explosion in Beirut, said the country’s Minister of Economy and Trade Raul Nahme.

He noted that Lebanon will take time to assess all the damage done.

“Lebanon has no financial capacity to overcome the consequences of the explosion. We are asking for help from the international community. The damage caused by the explosion is estimated at billions of dollars, ”he said in a comment to Sky News Arabia.

According to him, the only way out for the country in this case is cooperation with the International Monetary Fund.

Recall that the explosion in the port of Beirut occurred on August 4, as a result of which more than a hundred people died, more than 4 thousand people were injured, and about 300 thousand residents of the Lebanese capital were left homeless.
