At the Amur shipyard (ASZ) in Komsomolsk-on-Amur on Wednesday, July 29, the laying ceremony of a small missile carrier of cruise missiles “Kalibr” of project 22800 (“Karakurt”) took place, RIA Novosti reports.

The vessel is intended for the Pacific Fleet (Pacific Fleet) and is being built as part of the state defense order.

According to the general director of ASZ Vladimir Kulakov, the new Pavlovsk corvette is the fourth ship in the series being built at the enterprise. The previous three ships of this series (“Udomlya”, “Rzhev” and “Ussuriysk” – Ed.) Are in “good readiness”. The entire series is planned to be completed by 2026.

A mortgage plate was installed on the bottom section of the future ship.

As noted by the vice-admiral of the Pacific Fleet Denis Berezovsky, who was present at the ceremony, the corvettes of the same series “Loud” and “Perfect”, previously built at the plant, proved themselves worthy in difficult weather conditions in the Pacific Ocean.

“These corvettes underwent such a test that they themselves did not expect. But they passed all the tests with dignity, without a single breakdown, fully completed the tasks and continued the traditions of our glorious fleet, ”he said.

The ships of project 22800 were developed by the Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau of St. Petersburg. These are multipurpose missile and artillery ships of the maritime zone. The vessels are distinguished by high indicators of seaworthiness and controllability. The basis of the weapons of the ships of this series is a complex of high-precision missile weapons. The main weapon of the project 22800 MRK is the 3S14 universal shipborne rifle complex for eight Kalibr-NK or Onyx cruise missiles.

The newest frigates of project 22350 “Admiral Yumashev” and “Admiral Spiridonov” with hypersonic missiles were laid down at Severnaya Verf in St. Petersburg on July 20. According to the head of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) Alexei Rakhmanov, the ships will be transferred to the Russian Navy in 2025–2026. All frigates are carriers of the Kalibr-NK and / or Onyx cruise missiles, as well as the Zircon hypersonic missiles. There are no such weapons systems in any navy in the world, military experts say.
