Kaluga will host the all-Russian festival of folk crafts

In Kaluga on August 28-29, the All-Russian festival-competition of folk crafts “Khludnevskoe tree” will be held. The event will be attended by masters of folk crafts from various regions of the Russian Federation, the regional Ministry of Culture reports on Tuesday, August 11.

“The main part of the event will be a creative competition on a given theme in real time. Masters of pottery, traditional clay toys, weaving, textile dolls will work in front of the guests of the holiday for 4 hours,” the organizers of the event say.

The program includes concerts of creative groups, friendly meetings with participants, an exhibition-fair, master classes. Spectators will be able to get acquainted with different directions of traditional folk art, listen to Kaluga songs, and become participants in interactive games.

The grand opening of the festival will take place on August 29 at 11:00 Moscow time at the site of the House of Folk Art and Cinema “Central”.

It is in the Duminichsky district of the Kaluga region that the famous village of Khludnevo is located, where for more than 200 years there has been a folk art craft of traditional ceramics – pottery and clay toys. The Khludnevsky fishery is an intangible cultural heritage site of Russia.
