On August 12, the government of the Tver region raised the issue of starting the reclamation of landfills in Kimry and Nelidovo. Also at the meeting, chaired by Governor Igor Rudenya, the financing of the work was discussed.
– The regional budget includes funds for landfill reclamation. In the near future, we will begin work that will enable municipalities to reach another level, – Igor Rudenya said earlier at a meeting with the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kobylkin.
It became known that landfill reclamation as an important area of ​​the Ecology project will take place in two stages. At the first stage, they will form slopes to strengthen the soil, plan the territory, equip a protective screen on the surface of the landfill, a system for collecting and removing biogas and leachate. On the second, they will prepare the soil, apply fertilizer and sow the grass.
The area will be fully restored when 80% of the former landfill area is covered with grass.
After reclamation in Kimry, Nelidovo and on the 13th kilometer of the Bezhetskoe highway near Tver, the quality of life of almost 600 thousand people will improve. Within the framework of the national project “Ecology” by 2024 it is planned to process up to 100% of municipal solid waste, and utilize up to 58%.
