Israel and Bahrain will formalize on Sunday the normalization of their diplomatic relations during a ceremony in Manama, said an Israeli official in the capital of the archipelago.

An Israeli delegation and representatives of the Kingdom of Bahrain will sign “a joint communiqué (which) will mark the establishment of full diplomatic relations”, in application of the agreement signed on September 15 between the two states in Washington, said the official. .
Once the document is signed during a ceremony scheduled for Sunday evening, Israel and Bahrain will be able to open embassies, the same source added.
After the peace agreement between Egypt and Israel in 1979 and the agreement with Jordan in 1994, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain became respectively the third and fourth Arab countries to decide to normalize relations with the Jewish state.
The Palestinians condemned these latest agreements as a “dagger in the back” to their aspirations to achieve the creation of their own independent state.
