To participate in the hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Turkish authorities are airlifting militants from Syria to Azerbaijan by civilian planes. This was announced on Sunday, November 1, by the official representative of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Armenia Rafael Vardanyan.

“According to the testimony of the terrorist Mukhrab Muhammad, al Shkher, captured in Karabakh, his group crossed the border of Syria and Turkey without documents, which was organized by representatives of the police and the Turkish Armed Forces. These people were taken to a civilian airport in Turkey, from there they were transported to Azerbaijan by civilian planes with an Azerbaijani flag, ”TASS quoted Vardanyan as saying.

He noted that the mercenaries were without identification cards, mobile phones and other things. According to him, all actions to transfer the militants were controlled by Turkey, including the financing of this operation.

A few days ago, the defense army of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic announced the capture of a native of Syria, who is fighting in the region as a mercenary on the side of Azerbaijan.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov noted that the ministry does not deny the danger of mercenaries from Syria and Libya, who are participating in battles in the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, infiltrating the country.

In early October, French President Emmanuel Macron spoke about the transfer of 300 Syrian militants across Turkey to Baku. Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev denied his statement and demanded an apology from Paris.

Another escalation of the conflict in the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic took place on September 27. Baku and Yerevan accused each other of shelling. The parties agreed on a ceasefire three times, but recriminations and battles continue to this day.
