The long-awaited indoor skating rink is to be opened on Irinovsky Prospekt by the end of this year – the facility has been under construction for eight years. This was reported on August 8 in the press service of Smolny.

During a detour of the Krasnogvardeisky District, the skating rink was visited by the Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov. He was assured that the facility was already 99% complete. The remaining equipment is mounted inside.

On the territory of the sports complex, there will be gyms, trampolines, a choreography hall, an ice arena with a capacity of up to 250 spectators, a sauna, changing rooms, a medical office and areas for sharpening skates. The skating rink should be put into operation on August 31, 2020, and in September it is planned to hold the first curling competition there.
