This Friday, the Comptroller General of India (DCGI) approved Phase III clinical trials of the Covaxin coronavirus vaccine, developed by Bharat Biotech in conjunction with the Indian Medical Research Council.

According to the Hindustan Times, vaccine benchmarks must show at least 60% efficacy. To obtain approval from the World Health Organization (WHO), a drug must be at least 50% effective.

The third phase of vaccine research will begin in mid-November. 26 thousand people from 14 states of India will take part in drug trials.

October 17 Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Dr. Reddy’s has received approval to conduct clinical trials of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine in India. Later it became known that 100 volunteers would be selected for testing the Russian drug in India.

The very agreement to conduct vaccine trials in India was concluded in September this year. As part of these agreements, RDIF will supply more than 100 million doses of vaccine after receiving regulatory approval from India.
