In the Trans-Baikal Territory, officers of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee detained the head of the urban settlement “Sretenskoye” Sergei Tonkikh, according to the website of the regional branch of the Investigative Committee.
According to the department, the official is suspected of abuse of office and abuse of office. A criminal case has been initiated against the head of the urban settlement.
According to the version of the investigation, in 2019 the administration of Sretensk signed a municipal contract for the repair of the road in Sretensk, the amount of which was about 2.4 million rubles. Tonkikh, being aware of the contractor’s failure to perform work under a contract worth about 600 thousand rubles, having abused his official powers, signed documents on acceptance of outstanding work, for which the contractor was paid all the money under the contract, the department specified. According to the UK, the work under the contract has not yet been completed.
Investigators detained Tonkikh for 48 hours, and the question of choosing a preventive measure for him is currently being decided.
