The head of the region personally congratulated 18 families from the village of Yuzhno-Kurilsk on moving to new apartments. People will move from housing, recognized as hazardous before January 1, 2017, to a three-story new building. The authorities report that this year more than four thousand square meters of emergency housing have been resettled in the South Kuril urban district, about 100 people have found a new house. This year, two more houses with 36 apartments will be commissioned.

Construction is proceeding thanks to the federal target program “Social and Economic Development of the Kuril Islands for 2016-2025”. So, in the new building at 12A Okeanskaya there are one-, two- and three-room apartments with a total area of ​​over 1100 square meters. The apartments are completely ready to move in, the new settlers have to take care of the furniture. There is a children’s swing and a slide in the courtyard, and an area for recreation of adults is equipped.
