In the afternoon of August 5, a small resident of a house on Shestakov Street heard a crackling sound on the balcony and saw a fire there. She told about this to the household – the owner of the apartment and two more adults – and ran out into the street.
While the residents were trying to cope with the fire, the crying girl was stopped on the street by Svetlana Lisova, a senior interrogator of the Department of Supervision and Preventive Work of the city of Volzhsk and the Volzhsky District. She found out what had happened, called the fire brigade and an ambulance and went to the entrance.
The tenants of the apartment failed to extinguish the fire. Smoke rose to the fourth and fifth floors. The people living there, thanks to the warning, managed to go outside in time. The owners also left the apartment. The fire on an area of ​​about 30 square meters was extinguished by firefighters. The items stored on the balcony burned down, the decoration of the apartment and the neighboring balcony suffered.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the Republic of Mari El reports.
