The investigation completed work on a criminal case initiated almost thirty years ago. The accused confessed to the crime.

Recently, Volgograd investigators of the Investigative Committee and police officers opened a case of gang rape of a minor and identified one of the defendants.

The crime was committed in October 1993. A 17-year-old girl was walking home in the center of Volgograd. Two men offered to accompany her, but in a deserted place they dragged her to the site, where they took turns abusing her.

A criminal case was opened, but the attacker was found only now, said Natalia Rudnik, senior assistant to the head of the regional ICR ICR. During the search for people who had a criminal record for a similar crime, the attention of law enforcement officers was attracted by the data of a 48-year-old man. A year before the crime, he was released from the colony, where he was serving a sentence for gang violence.

The rapist’s victim confidently identified him after more than a dozen years. In addition, there were tattoos on his body, which the Volgograd woman described even during the first interrogations.

The accused confessed to everything, but he took all the blame, stating that he committed the crime alone. Now investigators are trying to establish the identity of his accomplice.
