The prosecutor’s office has achieved a more severe punishment for a resident of the region, Daniil Shchekin, who was found guilty of fraud in the field of car insurance.
As told in the press service of the regional prosecutor’s office, Shchekin in 2016 with an organized group registered fictitious road accidents to steal money from insurance companies.
With his participation, more than 1.8 million rubles were stolen from insurers.
The man was sentenced earlier – three years probation plus the same probationary period, but the Volzhsky prosecutor’s office appealed this decision, and the regional court sent the Volgograd citizen to a colony for 3 years. Shchekin was taken into custody in the courtroom.
