On the eve, police officers from the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs found an exotic cargo in a regular bus on the territory of the Svetloyarsk region.
DPS inspectors at the Chapurnikovsky checkpoint checked the bus en route Moscow – Makhachkala.
According to the press service of the department, a cage with a monkey was found during the inspection of the vehicle.
The owner of the unusual cargo was a 21-year-old resident of Makhachkala. The man could not document the legality of the acquisition of the animal, nor the right to transport it.
He told the law enforcement officers that he bought a monkey in Moscow on an advertisement on the Web and was taking it for home maintenance.
The Javanese macaque is currently being examined by veterinarians. Upon the transportation of an exotic animal, a check is carried out.
