In the Tula region, a guilty verdict was issued against the members of an organized criminal group that staged an accident.
According to the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Tula Region, in January 2017, a resident of the Tula Region created an organized criminal group. He and his accomplices committed auto insurance fraud. From January to August 2018, fraudsters staged an accident in order to illegally obtain insurance payments. In a similar way, the attackers inflicted damage on the insurance company in the amount of more than 1 million 500 thousand rubles.
The court found them guilty and sentenced them to:
- 4 years 6 months in prison;
- 5 years 6 months in prison and a fine of 250 thousand rubles;
- 5 years of imprisonment and a fine of 300 thousand rubles;
- 4 years of imprisonment and a fine of 150 thousand rubles;
- 2 years in prison.
Two members of the organized group were sentenced to 1 year and 10 months of corrective labor with 10% of their earnings retained as state revenue.
