The authorities of the Novosibirsk region announced a two-week school vacation due to the spread of coronavirus infection, and restrictions on the work of catering are also being introduced. This was reported on October 21 by the press service of the regional government.

The relevant decisions were made at a meeting of the headquarters to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection in the Novosibirsk region, which was chaired by Governor Andrei Travnikov.

“As a result of the meeting of the headquarters, it was decided to withdraw all secondary schools on vacation in full from October 26. Autumn holidays will last until November 9th. With regard to institutions of secondary vocational education, it was decided to transfer the first courses of general education to distance education from October 26, ”the press service said.

It was also decided from October 26 to limit the work of catering organizations and nightclubs from 24:00 to 8:00. An exception is establishments at airports, train stations and hotels.

The day before, the Ministry of Education reported that due to the spread of coronavirus infection in Russia, 126 schools were quarantined, which is 0.32% of the total number of schools in the country.

On the same day, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced the transfer of high school students (from 6th to 11th) to distance learning for the period from October 19 to November 1.

The spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes the disease COVID-19, began at the end of December last year. The Chinese city of Wuhan became the hotbed of infection.
