In the Kaliningrad region declared mourning for those killed in road accidents

The Governor of the Kaliningrad Region, Anton Alikhanov, decided to declare mourning on Monday, September 28, for those killed in an accident involving a sand truck and a regular passenger bus in the Zelenograd region. This was announced on Sunday by the press service of the regional government.

At the time of the incident, there were 15 people in the regular bus No. 120 following the route Kaliningrad – Yantarny, including a conductor and a driver. The driver was sober, TASS specifies. The section of the route is straight and is in a standard condition.

Currently, the road at the site of the accident is completely closed. Drivers are asked to select routes to bypass the site.

The accident happened earlier that day. The bus drove into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a truck loaded with sand. Seven people were killed.

Another 10 people were injured and hospitalized, writes Gazeta.ru. Six of the victims are in serious condition, and the rest are in a moderate condition.

Law enforcers opened a criminal case under Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
