In the Ivanovo Region, with the help of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, a multifunctional infectious diseases hospital with a capacity of up to 360 beds for those infected with coronavirus infection will be built. This was reported on the agency’s website on Wednesday, August 12.

“If the epidemiological situation improves, the hospital can be transformed to treat patients with other infectious diseases,” the Emergencies Ministry said.

The construction of the hospital was commissioned by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The medical institution will have five ward buildings, an operating and disinfection blocks, an ambulance, blocks of intensive care and waste disposal wards, a pathological and anatomical building.

In early June, the Russian Emergencies Ministry deployed a field hospital with 700 beds in the village of Belokamenka, Kola District, Murmansk Region. Earlier, the governor of the Murmansk region, Andrei Chibis, asked Putin to build such a medical facility in the region.
