According to the Ministry of Health, on August 5 and 10, 2 patients with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 died in the infectious diseases hospital of the Alexandro-Mariinsky Regional Clinical Hospital.
Resident of Liman District, born in 1963 before hospitalization 6 days was on outpatient treatment at the place of residence. On July 23, when his health worsened, he called the ambulance team and was taken to the Lokohelp trauma center for a chest computed tomography. In connection with the revealed bilateral pneumonia on the same day, the patient was admitted to the AMOKB.
On July 26, with an increase in respiratory failure, the patient was transferred to the intensive care unit and connected to a non-invasive ventilation device. Despite the ongoing intensive combination therapy, the patient’s condition progressively worsened, remaining extremely difficult. On August 5 at 4:15 pm, the man died.
The final diagnosis “coronavirus infection” was made by the pathology bureau after research and PCR diagnostics.
Resident of the Volga region, born in 1963 before hospitalization, she was at home for 4 days on self-medication. On August 10, due to the progression of respiratory failure, the patient was transferred to the intensive care unit and connected to a ventilator. Despite the efforts of the doctors, it was not possible to save the woman. Death occurred at 16:40. Astrakhanka had a number of concomitant diseases, including diabetes mellitus.
As of October 2, 2020, 116 deaths of patients with COVID-19 were registered in the Astrakhan region.
