Over the past year on the roads of the republic there were fewer accidents and people killed in them, reports IA “Tatar-inform” from a meeting of the Government Commission of the Republic of Tatarstan on road safety.
In the republic, it was possible to achieve a reduction in accidents, in 2020 there were 4,017 road accidents, 331 people died in them. For 2019, there were 508 more accidents, said the chief State traffic police officer of the republic Lenar Gabdurakhmanov.
The number of road accidents in the republic has been decreasing for the last 8-9 years. Since 2013, the accident rate has been constantly decreasing. Previously, 800 people per year died in road accidents, added Shamil Gafarov, head of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, deputy chairman of the Government Commission of the Republic of Tatarstan for road safety.
