The Sochi authorities decided to tighten control over the wearing of masks due to the large influx of tourists, since the risk of contracting coronavirus infection is still high. This was announced on Thursday, August 6, by the mayor of the city Alexei Kopaygorodsky.
“It is necessary to continue to check daily the observance of the mask regime and social distance in all public places of the resort”, – quotes the words of the mayor of “Interfax”.
According to him, first of all, the regime should be observed in shops, restaurants, shopping centers, cafes, dolphinariums, cultural objects and public transport.
He asked Sochintsev and guests of the city to be socially responsible. Kopaigorodsky stressed that the main task of the city authorities is to prevent the explosive growth of the spread of coronavirus and to maintain a stable epidemic situation, according to the TV channel “360”.
The mayor noted that now the peak of the holiday season is in Sochi – about 210 thousand visitors and more than half a million local residents are simultaneously in the city.
Earlier on the same day, it was reported that in August, Russians prefer to rest in the cities of the Krasnodar Territory – Sochi, Anapa, Gelendzhik, Yalta and Alushta are among the top five, RT reports.
