In Russia, 8,828 cases of COVID-19 were detected per day

Over the past day, 8,828 cases of COVID-19 were detected in Russia in 82 regions of the country. This was announced on Saturday, April 24, at the operational headquarters to combat the spread of coronavirus infection.

The largest number of new cases is in Moscow (2541), St. Petersburg (689) and the Moscow region (596).

“399 deaths were recorded. During the day in Russia 9254 people have fully recovered, ”the message says.

In total, 4,753,789 cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Russia to date. Over the entire period, 107,900 deaths were recorded, 4,380,468 people recovered.

On April 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during the announcement of the annual message to the Federal Assembly, said that Russian scientists made a breakthrough in the pandemic by developing three reliable vaccines against coronavirus. He added that in the early days of the onset of the coronavirus infection pandemic in 2020, uncertainty remained, but soon millions of people across the country joined the fight.

The head of state also called on Russians to get vaccinated against coronavirus. He pointed out that all citizens should have the opportunity to be vaccinated so that collective immunity from coronavirus is formed in the fall. The Russian leader himself has already been vaccinated.

Large-scale vaccination against COVID-19 has been taking place in Russia since January 18. The vaccination is given free of charge to everyone.

At the moment, three vaccines against coronavirus have been registered in the country: Sputnik V, EpiVacCorona and KoviVak. As noted in the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the activity of vaccination against coronavirus infection in Russia is high.
