Over the past 24 hours, 8,780 new cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in Russia. This was announced on Sunday, April 25, at the operational headquarters to combat the spread of coronavirus.
The largest number of new cases is in Moscow (2526), ​​St. Petersburg (701) and the Moscow region (611).

As Popova noted, because of the broken May holidays, Russians will more often travel by public transport, returning to the city and leaving it, which carries certain risks.
On the evening of the same day, the head of state signed a decree on non-working days from May 1 to May 10 inclusive.
Alexander Gorelov, deputy director for scientific work of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, noted that non-working days between the May holidays will not provoke an increase in the incidence of COVID-19 in Russia. At the same time, he urged to continue to comply with anti-epidemiological measures during the long weekend.
