From 19 to 28 April in the Karelian capital a preventive measure “Toning” is being held, the State Traffic Inspectorate of Petrozavodsk informs. During the raids, the police check the cars of Petrozavodsk residents for glass transmission, their safety and compliance with regulations.
However, traffic police officers pay attention not only to glass covered with transparent colored films, but also to objects that block the driver’s view: “curtains” and “magnetic nets”. They are usually installed on the front side windows.
“According to the Regulation on the safety of wheeled vehicles, the windshield and front side windows of a car must transmit at least 70% of the light,” remind the traffic police.
Drivers can be fined 500 rubles for violation of light transmission. Most of those caught eliminate violations on the spot.
