For 173 people from Ocnita region, the pension will increase by an average of 1,700 lei. This will become possible thanks to the mechanism for recalculating old-age pensions. This was stated by Prime Minister Ion Chicu, who is on a working visit in Ocnita region.
“After recalculation, the average pension of 173 people will increase from 2200 to 3900. We are talking about pensioners who worked in education and medicine. This is an encouraging result, an impressive increase after recalculation, although it is clear that even 3,900 lei will not satisfy the citizens of Moldova, ”the prime minister said.
Pensioners of the Ocnitsa region welcomed the PSRM initiative, which made it possible to use the recalculation mechanism.
Recall that, at the suggestion of PSRM deputies, the pensions of those who continue to work are recalculated twice a year, instead of one as it was before. So, from January 1, 2020, the pensions of 3.2 thousand people have been revised. Their average pension was over 4 thousand lei. From July 1, the right to recalculate the pension was granted to persons whose insurance experience is more than 10 years after retirement. There are 14 thousand such citizens in the country.
