Two schoolgirls were injured as a result of hitting a regular bus in Murmansk. This was announced on Saturday, September 5, by the press service of the regional prosecutor’s office.

According to the agency, the accident occurred at a regulated pedestrian crossing located at the intersection of Papanin and Chelyuskintsev streets. As a result of the collision, the girls were injured and were hospitalized.

“09/05/2020 at about 13:00 at the intersection of Papanin Street – Chelyuskintsev Street, the driver of the bus (route 107) hit two girls, born in 2004 and 2005, at a regulated pedestrian crossing,” the prosecutor’s office said.

On this fact, the department organized an inspection.

On September 4, on the 13th km of the Avdankasy-Morgaushi-Kozmodemyansk highway, an accident occurred with the participation of a school bus. Its driver, making a left turn, did not give way to an oncoming Lada Priora. As a result of the road accident, the driver of the car died at the scene, and his seven-year-old daughter died in the hospital. Her eight-year-old brother is in a medical facility.

On the fact of the accident, a criminal case was initiated under Part 3 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Violation of the rules of the road and the operation of vehicles, resulting in the death of a person by negligence”). It is noted that there were no passengers on the bus, and the children in the car were without a child seat.
