Unknown attackers beat a student of the Higher School of Economics (HSE), blogger Yegor Zhukov in Moscow on Sunday evening, August 30. REN TV was informed about this by a representative of Zhukov.

According to preliminary data, the attack took place near the entrance of his house. The young man was attacked by two, who, after being beaten, fled on scooters. The blogger’s representative noted that Zhukov did not have time to consider the attackers.

At the moment, the young man went to the police station to write a statement about the attack. It is also planned to call an ambulance there. Earlier, Zhukov posted on his Instagram page a photo with the consequences of the beating.

On December 6, 2019, the court found Zhukov guilty of using the Internet to “carry out calls for extremist activity”. The court sentenced him to three years of probation.

Yegor Zhukov was arrested on August 2. Initially, according to investigators, he coordinated the actions of the crowd during an unauthorized protest on July 27. Later, the prosecution in this case was terminated. Zhukov was charged with new charges of calling for extremism in YouTube videos.
