In Kazan, new video cameras have been installed in several parking lots, the Tatar-inform news agency reports with reference to the press service of the capital’s mayor’s office.
New cameras track license plates before being covered up or removed by drivers. With the help of new cameras, the monitoring of parking rules has been improved.
Such equipment was installed for the first time back in December. Since then, eight violations have been established, the drivers will be brought to administrative responsibility.
The technology is new, while it is being tested, the main tasks of manufacturers are to increase the efficiency of the algorithms used, as well as to increase the accuracy of registered violations.
The cameras will work in test mode until May 1, 2021, then a decision will be made whether to place them in all parking lots based on the results of the test period.
