As the Acting Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic, Police Colonel Alexei Shurungov told at an expanded meeting of the Collegium of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Kazakhstan, in 2020, a decrease in the number of grave and especially grave crimes was noted. 1834 crimes were solved, including 255 related to drug trafficking, 201 – economic and corruption. The detection rate of intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm has increased, 63 crimes of previous years have been solved. Fatal crimes, robberies and rape have been fully solved, Aleksey Shurungov noted.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Kazakhstan, the board also discussed the tasks of the ministry in the coming year. A number of employees for high results in operational and official work were awarded with distinctions, certificates and gratitude.
The meeting was attended by the heads of the legislative and executive authorities and law enforcement agencies of the republic.
