The head of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority, Ashraf Nuweir, said that direct flights from Russia to the resorts of Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh could resume in March.
As he told Reuters, the Russian airline Nordwind Airlines has already submitted a request to start flights to both cities from 28 March.
However, there is no confirmation of this information from the Russian side yet.
Recall that Russia interrupted flights with Egypt in November 2015 after the crash on the Sinai plane of the Russian company “Kogalymavia”. In January 2018, it was decided to resume regular flights to Cairo.
Charter flights to Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh are still closed.
