“I have the right” in Germany: Missing parcel in the house

─ Hello, dear editors!

I have a question about the delivery of parcels.

My neighbor accuses me of embezzling the package. In fact, they once rang the doorbell and asked to accept a parcel for neighbors, but they didn’t bring it. I opened the door and waited for someone to bring it. But that didn’t happen. I looked out the window, but there was no one there either. Naturally, I did not sign anywhere. And they put a form in the box for the neighbor, where it is written that I accepted the parcel.

Tell me how to be? As already reported, I have not signed anywhere and have not seen the parcel. The relationship with the neighbor is already tense. But how legitimate are the actions of the delivery company? How can I prove my case? And how to prohibit a neighbor from saying that it is impossible to live in the same house with foreigners, especially Russians – “the whole house will be pulled apart”.

─ Dear Ida!

Your fault in this situation is not. A neighbor cannot make any demands on you. The situation with it needs to be negotiated in a normal way. Further, she must contact the post office in order to search for a parcel.
