Head-on collision in Chernoyarsk region: 9 injured in hospital

A head-on collision of two cars took place in the Chernoyarsk region today. The incident happened on the P-22 “Caspian” highway between the villages of Pody and Staritsa. According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Astrakhan region, a woman born in 1984 driving a Volkswagen car was not convinced of the safety of a maneuver while overtaking a truck, drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a Kia Rio car, which was driven by 25 summer local.

In the accident, 9 people were injured: drivers and seven passengers of both cars. They were all taken to the hospital. Among them are two children of the alleged culprit of the accident – a 3-year-old boy and his sister, they have bruises and a closed head injury. Two women who were in the Kia showroom were seriously injured and taken to the intensive care unit.

Currently, the traffic police of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Chernoyarsk District of the Astrakhan Region are clarifying all the circumstances of the incident. An administrative investigation is underway.
