Nearly a quarter of the German population reports significant financial losses due to the corona crisis, showed a study conducted by Deutsche Bank. Most of the respondents said that their income decreased by an average of 400 euros, compared to the time before the pandemic.

The financial losses hit especially hard on the residents of the country, who already had relatively low incomes. Summing up, the bank said that half of all low-paid workers believe that they are on the border of the cost of living.

However, there are those who managed to improve their situation during the crisis. Five percent of the 3,200 people surveyed said that their income increased during the coronavirus crisis.
