British virtual band Gorillaz have released a new music video titled Strange Timez alongside the leader of the post-punk band The Cure, Robert Smith. The video was published on the band’s official YouTube account.

The composition premiered earlier this week. In the video, the animated characters: lead singer Stuart Harold, bassist Murdoch Nikkals, drummer Russell Hobbs and guitarist Noodle go to the moon, which has Smith’s face. The characters’ designs were developed in 1998 by artist Damon Albarn, who is also one of the main members of the group.

The clip was directed by the band’s lead singer Jamie Hewlett. The producer is Eva Dalkvist.

The musicians spent almost eight months on its creation. The piece became another work of the group in the “Song Machine” series, which is timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the group. It is in this series, according to the creators, that invited musicians take part.

On September 3, Russian singer Mikhail Shufutinsky on his Instagram page published a new video for his song “September 3rd” in a new arrangement.
