Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann announced that controls will be carried out using random checks at the airports of Munich, Nuremberg and Mömmingen. If possible, everyone entering the country should go through infection control.

The politician urged everyone returning from travel to be tested for infection as early as 48 hours before entering the country – even if, according to the current regulatory situation, it is enough to have a negative corona test within 48 hours after entering the coronavirus risk zone and send the result to health department within three days.

Mandatory quarantine applies to those arriving from risk areas. The traveler must immediately go to his apartment or other suitable accommodation upon arrival. Quarantine can be ended with a negative result no earlier than in five days. According to the information, exceptions, for example for passengers or travelers arriving by commuter trains, remain unchanged. Travelers who are at risk must fill out a special digital form before entering Germany.
