Thuringian Prime Minister Bodo Ramelova said the restrictions on social contacts should be extended until early to mid-January. Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel and 16 Prime Ministers agreed to extend the quarantine until December 20 for formal reasons. – says the politician. The measures will be extended again.

The heads of the federal states do not assume that cultural institutions, hotels and restaurants will be able to open earlier. The epidemiological situation in the country is too unstable, despite the facilitated quarantine introduced since the beginning of November. Ramelov stressed that Christmas should not be the beginning of the third wave. Therefore, travel abroad should be avoided. Christmas this year will be truly “quiet”.

The agreement between the chancellor and the prime ministers to introduce concessions during the Christmas holidays – from December 13 to January 1, has already caused a lot of criticism. Experts say the virus does not know the holidays and fear a sharp increase in infected by mid-January. The resolution adopted by the authorities implies the possibility of a joint celebration “with close relatives or friends” from December 23rd. At this time, up to 10 people can gather at one table, not counting children under 14 years old.
