Germany: Majority of Frankfurt residents for imposing curfew

Due to a sharp increase in the number of people infected with a new type of coronavirus in Frankfurt am Main, new restrictions will be introduced starting Friday: from 22:00 to 6:00 a curfew will be introduced in the city. It will be forbidden to drink alcohol in public places. Along with this, private events will be limited in the number of guests.

In a poll conducted by hessenschau.de about the imposition of a curfew in Frankfurt am Main, 53.8 percent of participants voted per 44.8 percent of respondents believe that this is wrong. 1.4 percent of respondents refrained from answering. Almost 22,000 participants took part in the non-representative survey.

At the moment, among the districts and urban districts of Hesse, the city of Offenbach now has the most new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days. Here the so-called incidence rate is 49.7, which is slightly below the 50 mark. The second place in terms of incidence is taken by Frankfurt with 47.0 and the Gross-Gerau region with 39.0.
