Eased quarantine has helped to ensure that the number of infections in Germany does not increase exponentially. However, the expected reduction in the number of infected has not yet been achieved. Over the past day, the number of people infected in the country has increased by more than 22,000. In seven federal states, the number of cases is indicated by four-digit numbers.
Most of the infected were detected in North Rhine-Westphalia – 4,909 new infections. In second place in terms of the number of cases per day is Bavaria (4445). The third is Baden-Württemberg (3,101). This is followed by Hesse (2,067), Lower Saxony (1,330), Saxony (1,722) and Berlin (1,110).
Saxony became the federal state with the largest increase in the number of infections detected this Thursday, with 42.3 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the Free State. In total, 22,222 infected have been identified in Germany over the past 24 hours.
