From the beginning of November 2020, German manufacturers will voluntarily place the Nutri-Score label on food packaging. This label is a kind of compass in the world of healthy eating.

The label is a traffic light made up of several categories, from green A to red E. This way consumers can quickly determine whether a given product is a healthy diet or not. In addition to the sugar, fat and salt contained, the description should indicate the constituent ingredients, such as fiber.

However, manufacturers are free to decide whether they will place the Nutri-Score on top, on the front of the product packaging, or somewhere in the back. The Federation of German Consumer Organizations (vzbv) and the consumer organization Foodwatch are calling for Nutri-Score labels to be mandatory in all EU countries. France, Spain and Belgium have already introduced this designation on products. Switzerland and the Netherlands have agreed to introduce the Nutri-Score on a voluntary basis.

Germany says this:

Germany: Ober-Burgomaster recommends seniors to avoid bus travel and promises free FFP2 masks

Germany: The burden on relatives caring for relatives has increased dramatically

Germany: The authorities will support medical institutions with 290 million masks

Germany: Eased quarantine will cost the economy 19 billion euros
