The Youth Union of Bavaria in early November announced the all-Bavarian “Competition for the best Christmas card”. Of course, the Russian-German Cultural Center in Nuremberg could not stand aside, especially since so many children attend various art courses and studios at the Center.

During the autumn holidays, we gathered everyone who wanted to take part in the competition, test their artistic skills, or maybe just try their luck, and asked for the help of the head of the art course, teacher Elena Baron, to help hold the competition. The guys worked and each created their own unique New Year’s card. In the work, not only paints and pencils were used, but also decorative stones, beads and much more.

After the end of our art action, all the works were carefully packed and sent to Munich for the competition. A few weeks later we received the good news that according to the results of the jury’s discussion, out of many works sent from all over Bavaria, the three best drawings were selected and, thus, one of our students reached the final!

After this decision of the jury, the works of the finalists were put up for an open audience vote. In a few days of open voting on Instagram, our student’s drawing received the largest number of likes! And now we have already received an official message that the drawing by Christian Lemke, a student of the Russian Center in Nuremberg, was recognized as the best! Christian received a certificate and gifts. But the most important gift was recognition – a week later a Christmas card, illustrated by our Christian, printed in a printing house, went to all parts of Germany.

We are very proud of this fact, especially since Christian has been visiting the Russian Center since the age of two! Now Christian is in 6th grade.

And of course, we are very grateful to Christian for such an opportunity to once again glorify our Russian Center!
