The purpose of the basic pension is recognition of merit. Those who have worked for at least 33 years and paid taxes should have a better pension. In addition, he should not pound the doorstep of social services, which many older people say is shameful.
On average, the supplement is 75 euros. The basic pension will officially start on January 1, but the payment is likely to come a few months later. Departments say they have to check a huge number of pension files. However, the money will be transferred retroactively for the period starting from January 1, 2021.
