A car that caught fire in the Kiev region almost destroyed a gas station.
The message that a car parked not far from a gas station was on fire in the Kievsky district was received by the State Border Guard Service of the Donetsk Ministry of Emergency Situations on April 14 after 6 pm. Firefighting equipment was dispatched to the scene.
A guard on duty at the scene recorded that the engine compartment and the interior of the Daewoo Lanos were on fire. It was not possible to extinguish the car immediately, as a gas leak occurred from the car, which caused a repeated fire. It was possible to localize it only after 20 minutes, and it took another 10 minutes to completely eliminate it. It is reported that the driver of the car was not injured.
Thanks to the emergency actions of firefighters, the fire from the car did not have time to spread to the gas station. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the DPR noted that if the flame passed to the fuel tanks of the gas station, an explosion would occur.
It is also reported that it took 28 personnel and 7 units of fire fighting equipment to extinguish the fire.
